Goa Hotels & Excursions with Direct Holidays

Hi

We have decided to go to Goa next March/April, we like a nice hotel on the beach and lots of bars and restaurants.

We like The Holiday Inn Resort at Mobor Beach, the hotel looks great, do any excursions go from here?

We also like the look of Candolim and Calangute, any suggestion on hotels, the reviews are a bit mixed.

Are there any excursions that are a MUST?

Thanks

Hi DreamCity

I believe the Holiday Inn is AI, why not find yourself a good B %26amp; B? The food and drink are soooo cheap! If you can get AI as cheap as B %26amp; B fair enough.

We were %26#39;Goan virgins%26#39; in December and stayed at Casa De Cris, been there again since!!

We struggled to spend £500 in 2 weeks and that was all our food and drink! (As lots of people on here know, we drink a lot)

The Holiday Inn is, apprently, a fab place to stay but it is out of the way of the centre of Cavelossim, about 1/2 an hour walk, along the beach.

Sorry, can%26#39;t help you with the excursions, we were just so chilled out that we did nothing!

Oh, apart from Mike%26#39;s Beach Party (by the Holiday Inn, but transport provided from Casa De Cris) and Casa Cris Cruises (fab day out).

Whatever you decide, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a fantastic time! :-))

Hi DreamCity, if the reviews overall are good, I would say go with it. If it%26#39;s something silly like %26#39;no shower cap in the bathroom%26#39; or something similar then ignore it. Many reviewers give a general impression of the area aswell and not just the hotel so unless you read all the reviews, it can be hard to gauge what the hotel is really like.

Both Calangute and Candolim will have more than enough bars and restaurants to see you through! The south will be much quieter in comparison to the north so it depends on what you fancy. To summarise, the north is lively and a little manic and the south is relaxing and very chilled!

For excursions, Dudhsagar waterfalls is a must in my opinion. Old Goa is good for a bit of culture for a first visit and a trip to a spice plantation for a wash/ride with an elephant, again for a first visit. Gotta see an elephant in Goa! The crocodile spotting trip is good but scary. We are doing both the crocodile trip and the falls again this time.
