India Visa

My name is Simon Gresswell I am travelling to India from england on June 2nd this year and looking for some help when applying for my visa, I am on a strict budget and dont want to get ripped off by travel agents!!! Just need a tourist visa.

I have been doing some research and it seems like a complete minefield. Does anyone know or can reccomend a simple way of applying, and can you do it without actually visiting the embassy, i.e.- online or by post?

Also, i am visitng nepal and going back into into afterwards, will i need a special visa for this and will it cost alot more?

Hi Simon,

Cant help with Nepal, but for India I would complete the online application, make the online payment then print out and send off the application with passport and photo.

Returned to me within the week.

Agree with Unic, Meerkat has put some comprehensive advice on the Goa forum, in fact it%26#39;s a step by step guide to on-line application. It%26#39;s actually a lot easier than it seems. Not sure about Nepal...

As the previous posters state-Indian Visa is easy,complete it on line,submit it and 3 days later you can collect it. Worked a treat for me at their Birmingham Visa office and can also be done by post.

Nepal is also easy-download application form from Nepal UK website, complete and post to Embassy and it is back generally by return of post.

Also, if I am applying for a double or multiple entry india tourist visa, is there an option to state this on the online application form, and does it cost more?

The last I heard,the only tourist Visa being issued was a 6 month multi entry and it can be done on line.
