It just gets better...

Just a short report as I%26#39;ve got a lot of catching up to do at work. Returned on Sunday night from our third trip to Cavelossim and it just gets better!

TRAVEL

Flight out, Monarch, 28th February, delayed until after 9pm, so missed an afternoon on the beach but forgot about the journey after a few G%26amp;T%26#39;s and a whole tandoori chicken at Get Down! Return journey more or less on time.

ACCOMMODATION

Stayed at Casa de Cris instead of Edwins (Sao Domingos)- better deal with Olympic holidays. Very pleased with the room - clean, bright, everything we needed with no hidden costs.

FOOD

Yummy as usual...

Goan Village - delicious butter chicken, aloo gobi, chilli chicken, pasta, etc. Nice atmosphere too and Edwin was very gracious about us staying next door. Finished most evening there with coffee and Honey Bees.

Riverview - warm welcome from Joe, lovely setting for lunch, cracking sizzlers and sea food.

Octima - has potential but service leaves something to be desired, to say the least!

Mike%26#39;s Place - fantastic service, high standard of food, romantic setting.

Lots of others to choose from including shacks and none disappointing.

ACTIVITIES

Mostly eating, drinking, lazing on the beach, gossiping and fishing on the river and in the sea. Total catch - catfish and one 4 foot snake which caused quite a stir locally! Boat trip ( Cris Cruise ) was brilliant - lovely food, lots to drink, big dolphin display and live music. Also bhangra dancing with Ravi at Goan Village which I shouldn%26#39;t have attempted so vigorously at my age as I suffered for a couple of days with my knees!!

WEATHER

HOT HOT HOT!!First week, big winds off the sea. Second week, exceptionally high tides following the full moon.

DISAPPOINTMENTS

Only the fact that we didn%26#39;t bump into Lindamojo and pass on all your good wishes for her birthday.

However we thank her for leaving us plenty of gin!!

When did you go on Cris Cruises? Was it the first week that you were there? If so we were on that cruise! We sat downstairs towards the front of the boat, gave Steve a Welsh flag and we had a bit of a bop at the end! Shame we missed you :-(

Cheers Meerkat, yep, we had a good laugh and a fantastic holiday! Can%26#39;t believe that we are back and all of a sudden yours has come around (to me) very quickly.

I know that all of you going out shortly will have a fantastic time and can%26#39;t wait to read your reports when you get back home (not that I%26#39;m wishing your holiday away!)

Really looking forward to being on that beach on Sunday, sipping cocktails on Sunday night and getting just a little bit tiddley. Okay, maybe alot tiddley lol! And really looking forward to meeting the chatterboxes and pee takers! You know who you are lol! Myself obviously excluded!

Oh, I wish we%26#39;d known! Would have been fun, but we went on the cruise the following Tuesday.

What Ellie, you didn%26#39;t go twice? lol

Our sum trip total was twice on Cris Cruises and twice to Mike%26#39;s Beach Party!

Have to say though that we didn%26#39;t see Dolphins on either trip, first time we spent about an hour out at sea and missed them and the second time the sea was too rough to even go out there but it didn%26#39;t matter, we had a fantastic time, a great singalong, fantastic food and lot of drinkie poos! lol

Maybe next year Ellie eh? lol

Lovely positive report on Cavelossim Ellie and glad that you had such a great time. We%26#39;re going back to Cavelossim in December after an absence of 2 years and it%26#39;s great to hear you think it%26#39;s improved. Can%26#39;t wait to go back and try all those excellent restaurants :-)
