I want to go to Northern India within the next few months. Will this be a bad time because of monsoon season?

Northern India weatherHuh Northern India never a problem? Maybe not for Steve McCurry, but for ordinary mortals the next few months spells terrible heat followed by a very sticky and unpredictable monsoon period. If you have an option of scheduling your visit to another time in the year I would recommend end of Oct-Nov or Feb-Mar for travel in the north. Unless ofcourse you do less of sightseeing in the northern plains (Delhi/Agra/Rajasthan/Varanasi) and spend more time in the Himalayas. Ladakh for instance would be just ideal April onwards, as would be the popular hill stations of Himanchal and Uttaranchal.
