Need advise on 1/2 day Bangalore sightseeing

I am from Mumbai - would be going for Bangalore/Mysore/Ooty trip.

DAY 1

------------------------

I would reach Bangalore Airport around 7.45 am on 1st-May(holiday)+ 1/2 day Bangalore sightseeing (9am - 2pm) covering Tipu%26#39;s Palace, Bull Temple, Lalbagh, Ulsoor Lake, Cauvery handicrafts emporium, Vidhana Soudha + Board Tipu Express from Bangalore station at 2.15pm + Overnight stay at Mysore.

Can I get a taxi/car from Bangalore Airport for 5 hrs for 1/2 day Bangalore sightseeing ?? Any idea about the charges ??

Any other options ??

Please give suggestions.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I think you have received some replies, including from me.

Why re-post?

Need advise on 1/2 day Bangalore sightseeing

Yes ! In the arrival hall there are Travel Agency Stalls offering Taxi services, however, they may be little costlier. You may call up Meru Cabs at 080 44224422 and fix up the programme. They charge Rs. 15 per KM.

Recently I was at Bangalore and I hired a taxi for Rs. 800 for 8 hours and eighty Kms. Since we ran few KMs extra, the cost came around Rs. 1050/-

However, Airport itself is around 60 Kms. from the city and as you intend to go siteseeing directly from Airport, most 65 KMs will get eaten up by this journey itself.

You may call up 09845023674, 080 26914666 Bangalore Cabs), or 080 2530 2222 (metro Cabs)for fixing up a package deal.

Thanks for suggestion.

Can you tell Total how much KM ( Airport to city + 1/2 day Bangalore sightseeing ) approx. would I need to travel ??

I have heard that taxi charges Rs 5.5/KM - can I get such type of cab from Airport itself ??

MERU CAB would be expensive for me.

I think it would be a run around 100 Kms. (65+35). You may call the number mentioned in my earlier post and fix up.

At airport plenty of taxis are available just outside the exit area. But, there your bargaining potential is limited. The new Bangalore Airport is in the middle of nowhere and you don%26#39;t have much time also. It will be better to pre book a taxi to give him your flight details.

I think that for the entire trip you can get a taxi for Rs. 1000/- . Anything less will be your saving.
