stymied as to how to do this: Agra, Jaipur, Runthambare

Would appreciate any help trying to figure out if the following is doable:

Leave Mumbai on a Friday morning.

Would like to visit Agra, Jaipur and Runthambare (if not Runthambare, can you suggest alternate wildlife area that would work)

We are flying out of Mumbai at 1:40 PM on the following Tuesday, so this would have to be accomplished on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (I assume we should get back to Mumbai by Monday night for the flight out the following day?)

I am looking for help to know if this is feasible; if feasible, how to travel from place to place; if any particular suggestions re: where to stay, eat, etc. so much the better.

Thanks so much.

Fri - Fly Mumbai-Jaipur, Jaipur sightseeing

Sat - Drive to Ranthambore, evening safari

Sun - Morning safari, drive to Agra

Mon - Taj by dawn, drive to Delhi airport, fly to Mumbai on an evening flight reaching Mumbai

If your flight out is on Tuesday night, then I suggest the following variant:

Mon - Taj by dawn, Agra Fort, drive to Delhi, overnight Delhi

Tue - Delhi sightseeing, afternoon flight to Mumbai to catch connecting flight

Agra-Delhi is 4.5 - 5.5 hours driving, FYI.

Can you give advice re: the driving aspect of what you recommended? Is train out because it takes too long?

How do I get a driver out of Jaipur?

As you can see, I%26#39;ve never done this before!

What month are you coming to Ranthambhore? Remember the sanctuary is closed from June to September. Can you take a train Thursday night from Bombay? Will save you time and money.

So the plan could be -

Thursday late evening train to Agra

Friday morning arrive Agra. Sightseeing and drive to Bharatpur. Night in Bharatpur

Sat - Drive to Ranthambhore. Anoon safari (book well in advance on the website - www.rajasthanwildlife.in)

Sun - Morning safari %26amp; drive to Jaipur. Sightseeing %26amp; night in Jaipur

Mon - Full day sightseeing %26amp; evening flight to Bombay

What budget do you have for hotels per room per night?

Also in response to your later Q - How do I get a driver out of Jaipur?

Ask any of the Jaipur based members of Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators to organise the car for you to meet you at Agra and be with you until Jaipur. See www.ratorajasthan.org

We are coming soon! Hence my panic re: getting the details of this ironed out.

We are talking about Friday March 20th through Monday the 23rd (leaving Mumbai on Tuesday the 24 at around 2 PM).

I would like to get started as early as possible out of Mumbai that Friday (20th)...

I just don%26#39;t know anything at all about hiring cars and drivers -- and also don%26#39;t know anything about the various domestic airlines so would appreciate anyone%26#39;s thoughts on the best (or worst) in terms of service and reliability.

Many thanks.

No need to panic. Here are the steps you have to take -

1 - Finalise your plan - Im afraid you do not have enough time for Ranthambhore. I suggest the foll plan -

20th - Fly Bombay to Jaipur. Sightseeing %26amp; night in Jaipur

21st - In Jaipur. Sightseeing %26amp; night

22nd - Drive Jaipur to Agra. Sightseeing %26amp; night

23rd - Drive Agra to Jaipur %26amp; flight to Bombay

2 - Book your flight tickets online. If youre abroad you can use Expedia, Travelocity etc to do so. Some Indian websites also accept foreign credit cards. Try www.cleartrip.com or www.makemytrip.com

3 - Use the query form on the RATO website (www.ratorajasthan.org) to get quotes for the car %26amp; hotels from RATO members. The query gets sent to all the members and youll can pick an dchoose the best quote. Mention your budget for the hotels per room per night

You should be all set in a couple of days!!
