Tibetan Settlements at Mungod

We are staying in Calengute for a week in April(09) and would like to visit the Doeguling Tibetan Sellement at Mungod,Karnataka.Any one know how we could get there and how far away it is?

Tibetan Settlements at Mungod

We went there a few years ago and from what I remember its about 1 1/2 hours from Hubli

We drove from Mapsa to Belgaum (4 hours plus) and stayed over night there, then moved on to Hubli (4 hours) which we used as a base to explore from.

We went in November and a lot of the roads had been washed away in the monsoon and they were still building the highway so might be quicker now but we made the mistake of coming back the other way into south Goa.

Trying to overtake the lorries and busses was freighting and volume of traffic made it a very hard drive. We left the Tibetan settlement about 5 and did not get back to Mapsu until 2 in the morning after only half hour stop.
