Hi all
The day I leave for Goa is drawing ever closer, next Fri, and this will be my first time there!!
I know this is a fairly common topic but I would just like a list of about 4 or 5 things that must not be missed. I%26#39;m staying in the South so maybe this will have an effect on what people list. I don%26#39;t mind abit of a journey to get there either.
Finally would like to thank-you all for this forum it%26#39;s been a great help.
Nick
The definitive must do list
Many of the main attractions are in central Goa so are easily accessible from the north or the south:
Dudhsagar waterfalls - great day out lots of info on here if you haven%26#39;t read about it already.
Old Goa, temples and the spice plantation with a delicious lunch served on a banana leaf.
Boat trip to spot the dolphins which can also include birdwatching on the River Sal.
A night in a beach hut in Agonda.
Don%26#39;t forget to go to a beach party at one of the shacks at least once during your holiday (providing they%26#39;re up by then of course!). It%26#39;s a brilliant night out
I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a wonderful time.
The definitive must do list
i%26#39;d add,
a kingfiher beer at a beach shack, as the sun goes down!!! this is a ';MUST DO';
BOB
And at the other end of the day - a really early morning walk along the beach to watch the sunrise...
I can%26#39;t stop just now but will write a proper reply when I get 5 mins. but I have posted some photo%26#39;s of our last couple of trips staying in the South on
http://www.flickr.com/photos/goanjock/ any questions on them just ask?
I have also started a trip report of our March trip (I must write some more)
tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g297604-i6045-k1…
another quick post, A must do on the way to the falls from the South is to stop at Chandor and get a tour round a couple of stunning Portuguese style stately homes, the current occupants will show you round and they really are fascinating. There isn%26#39;t an entrance fee but a donation at the end of around 100 rps per person is expected and is used to help with the up keep of the homes.
For an idea of all day boat trips (and shorter trips) have a look at www.bettysgoa.com in Cavelossim (5 mins from Mobor) Julio%26#39;s and Jacks also do similar trips
I think you mean Braganza Manor - it%26#39;s amazing - two parts of the same house split in half by a bickering family.
There are actually two one is the Menezes Braganza (the names of the two families, the history of which makes great reading) and the name of the other escapes me just now I will post the name when it comes back to me. It%26#39;s not as large as the M/B but it is still well worth a look round.
Got it (I hate when you can%26#39;t remember the name of something) it%26#39;s The Fernandes House as I said nothing like as grand as the Braganza/Menezes house but still worth a look.......look out for the hidden passage ;-)
hi
we went to one somewhere near bigfoot,can%26#39;t remember the name, was it one of those two???
