Hi Kev

I would take as much as you can afford......

If you don%26#39;t spend it all you can still bring it home with....

ps i should take a hair dryer......lol

spending money

We spent £1500 for two adults and one 12 year old child - you could probably spend a bit more or a lot less, it depends on the type of person you are.

We stayed in the South and after visiting the North, the South is a bit more expensive - perhaps 10% more.

I certainly would have felt that I was on a budget on £1,000 though.

This is very subjective - we did everything we wanted, ate out all the time and drank plently, did a few trips and bought plenty of gifts including £130 on a bracelet.

We did not hold back on anything and probably could not have spent that much more that we did.

blimey 1500 two of us spent 500 pounds between us in jan and that included a couple of trips overnite in the south,a few gifts and eating and drinking to our hearts contend.i,d say 600 pounds for the two of you as trips fairly cheap

Hi Kevlucy

I would say a min of £400 would be ok keep you comfortable,£600 would easily give you a good life on your hols,if you can afford £1500 thats fine to give you the security of knowing your money will not run out, remember many locals live on £20 a month so dont worry you wont starve whatever amount you take to spend .

If you really do want to live like kings you could book the royal villa at the leela hotel for £900 a night or thats a bit to downmarket you could book the presidential suite for £1600 a night,Your armed motorcade may have problems with the narrow goan roads though :)

Hope you both have a great time and that you tell us about it on your return.

Rob

We find £50 a day between 2 of us works pretty well and we still end up with change.

The overnight Jungle book tour was £225 alone - for the three of us.

We spent approximately £300 in the hotel on meals drinks and laundry etc and £200 on Jewellery.

It soon adds up. But as I said, its a subjective matter.

We nearly always take £1K and bring back around £400, this is for taxis food not much alcoholic drinks and no excursions(we just get taxis for sightseeing etc). This year we were away from many places to eat within walking distance(Anjuna) and travelling to other places eg. Baga, Candolim etc plus visiting a friend inland, we spent more so only brought back £200. We did spend about £150 on clothes being made and taxis added upto around £10-£15 a day which is the biggest increase we have seen over the years. If you are staying somewhere where you can walk to loads of places and don%26#39;t dring imported alcohol then costs can be kept down without feeling as though you are scrimping. It helps if you eat veggie and fish( other than lobster and king prawns which can be expensive)as the indian food is cheaper. If you stick to western food then you will pay a little more.

We take roughly £1200 usually in the north and come back with about 400 when in B %26amp; B. We don%26#39;t go without anything, if we want it - we have it. Unfortunately I%26#39;m not talking about jewellery here within this price band though.

Hi Kevlucy we take about £1200 and usualy bring some home.i get a couple leather jackets made and try to get my glasses done while i%26#39;m there.we don%26#39;t scpimp on the eating or drinking either.Like Badgerlad said take what you can afford.You%26#39;ll have a brill time when you get there .Barbs
