Oberoi Vessel Vrinda Cruise - your thoughts?

We will be visiting Kerala for a week in February and are considering a couple of nights doing the backwaters on the Vrinda. I can%26#39;t seem to find any reviews regarding this and would value the opinion of anyone who%26#39;s been.

Oberoi Vessel Vrinda Cruise - your thoughts?

If you are looking to cruise the lake in 5 star luxury then vrinda is the one to book. But you want personal , private , traditional keralan house boat experience with keralan food then the kettuvalam is the way to go.

Oberoi Vessel Vrinda Cruise - your thoughts?

We LOVED the Vrinda!!! We spent 3 delightful nights on the boat in early December and were shocked that so few people knew about this. We met many upscale travelers in other hotels and resorts whose travel agents mislead them by not suggesting this experience which was one of our favorite travel experiences anywhere. During the day we had guided excursions on the Oberoi%26#39;s traditional rice boat, so we had the experience of drifting through the smaller canals and were able to see the sights up close. (Frankly, it%26#39;s the beautiful scenery that makes the backwaters magical more than the idea of sleeping on a rice boat. Why bother?) When we returned to the main boat (which has 8 elegant cabins with lovely ensuite baths) we were refreshed in cool comfort, and wined and dined in great style. Each meal had sumptuous choices--the chef made spectacular world class food, and catered to many whims. (Probably the best food we had for a month in southern India!) The staff was fantastic, and we had traditional Kerala entertainment each night.

If you can afford this trip, by all means go for it rather than the rice boats. Completely magical, relaxing and very romantic!

I originlly asked about Vrinda so now that I%26#39;ve been I thought I%26#39;d write my own review.

It was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all expectations. The backwaters are beautiful and to see all the wonderful scenery from the luxury of the Vrinda was a real treat. The boat is lovely, the service superb, the food was the best we had in 3 weeks in India, the excursions on the smaller rice barges were very informative and great fun. All in all a 10/10 experience. Very highly recommended.

I couldn%26#39;t agree more... The Vrinda is fantastic and I recommend anyone to go NOW!! The food is out of this World - Michelin Star Indian food - don%26#39;t be tempted by the International cuisine (which is truly excellent), but stick with Robin%26#39;s (the chef) Indian menu.

The service is second to none...

could some one please mention the cost per person for this 3 nights luxury trip ?

thanks
