Cost of living

Hi,

Me and my future wife are looking to spend our honeymoon at the Holiday Inn Resort, but as money will be tight we wont be able to afford the all inclusive option and we were wondering what the prices are like in and around the hotel for drinks, food, etc. I know it is all relative to what you want to do but i%26#39;m looking for an idea of a daily budget.

Also do you think its best to look at a slightly cheaper resort and go for the all inclusive option? we had been looking at the dona silvia but the seeing the rooms described as dinngey did not really appeal.

Cost of living

Food %26amp; drink really cheap.

North is cheaper than the south.

I would recommend B%26amp;B over AI....

Which country are you from?

Cost of living

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. We stayed at the Holiday Inn 2 years ago on b%26amp;b %26amp; thought it was lovely. I spent £250 in 2 weeks which included all food and drink, a couple of trips (including overnight in a beach hut in Agonda) and a few small pieces of jewellery. We are going back to Cavelossim in December and I will probably take about £400 as I know prices have increased slightly but also because the exchange rate isn%26#39;t as good. Not sure I will spend it all but can always bring some back. We could have stayed at the Dona Sylvia AI for £70 more than we paid for b%26amp;b at the Holiday Inn but didn%26#39;t regret our decision to stay at the HI and our room was excellent. We never ate at the hotel apart from breakfast as there are a good selection of shacks and restaurants to choose from at very reasonable prices. I can recommend the HI cake shop though, they had some delicious cakes at quite reasonable prices. I think the HI is a great honeymoon destination.

You are SO much better off NOT being all inclusive.

the food and drink in the restraunts and beach shacks is so cheap. I never understand why people go A/I.

hope you enjoy Goa. congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, have a great married life.

Badgerland it says UK under their name.

Gemma1%26#39;s advice is spot on, especially for a honeymoon, hotel and area.

Great choice for a honeymoon (guess where we had ours ;-) ) For an idea of food prices here%26#39;s a link to a menu of a restaurant just outside The Holiday Inn

I went at Christmas and i spent £500.00 over two weeks that includeed all meals, drinks, massages on the beach, a few trips and taxis. It has defintly gone up a bit and the exchange rate not soo good so its not the bargain it used to be but still a bargain if you know what I mean. We didnt scrimp on anything either but I am going 11th April so am taking £600.00 per person to be ont he safe side.

Bodger, i have seen a holiday Osborne, this sun 2 wks for £762 two people, might make hubby his favourite tea tonight. lol

Between two of us last April we spent £950 including the jungle book trip which was £165(2 of us). If you like a few drinks, want to buy a few items and do a few trips i would recommend taking £1000 for two weeks for a couple and hopefully you will take some home.

These who said they took £250 for two weeks cant have done much drinking or maybe trips or both. Ok its cheap there but £250 is only £18 a day a beer costs £1 so a few of those eat into that. Not to forget most people use taxi%26#39;s that ok cheap but still a quid or two.

Not to forget trips, trinkets, clothes etc.. will eat into that £250
