Footwear

Hi Thinking about going on a couple of trips, Elephant and spice plantation. Her indoors is wondering what footwear is best. Will the good old flipflop be ok or are trainers needed.

Personally I would recommend trainers. The falls can be pretty damn slippery on the rocks so your OH will need something with a bit of tread. I wear trainers for the elephants ride too.

If you are going in the water with the elephants take a pair of crocs so that you can wear them in the water. If you go for the power shower you will have to take all footwear off but you will get pretty close with your crocs on they are also good for the beach.

we went in our crocs, they are good for flying in! We wore them a lot during the day and are good for going on the beach and in the sea. They are cool to wear, and also prevent the red dust from stainng your feet. Go on just try a pair to wear!!!L%26gt;O%26gt;L

Lots of fake Crocs in Goa but if you want real ones Crocs have opened a shop near to Sportsman Bar in Calangute. Lots of choice and depending which you buy are a couple of pounds cheaper than UK.

Hiking sandals are good %26amp; a lot cooler than trainers.

I got some from decathelon which were about £30. I don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;ll have them in stock this time of year though.

I always take a pair of hiking sandals that have removable heelstraps. Have them on when you need a secure footing, off when you need to keep slipping them on and off (beach, temples, going in %26amp; out of room/hut). They are absoutely perfect and I don%26#39;t bother taking any other shoes at all. Not particularly pretty, but who cares (and anyway, more attractive than crocs which are b****y ugly IMHO)
