Whilst the Government have put a tempory halt on the half hour evening power cut, we are experiencing longer power cuts throughout the day. For example, yesterday we had a power cut from 10:15 to 19:25. Today we had another from 08:00 to 14:15. Even though I do not live in the tourist area I have been informed that these longer daytime power cuts are also happening there.
The evening half hour power cut has been suspended because of the SSLC exams. This is the Governments way of helping the students with thier exams. Whilst this is happening the Government is assessing how much power is actually used in the evenings but this assessment is not the reason for the suspension.
