Thomson Flight to Goa

We are flying with thomson on 2nd April from Manchester flight no TOM 353 and have now been told that we land both ways at Gatwick my husband who isnt a keen flyer and especially hates take off and landing is not too happy. Can anyone tell me if they have been on this flight does it always land at Gatwick and how long will we be on the ground as I will have to put up with my husband moaning the whole time as he thinks its wrong to keep us on the plane!!!! Thanks

Thomson Flight to Goa

hopefully about 1 hour. This has probably come about due to flight ';consolidation';, ie not enough passengers on either Gatwick or Manchester flights to make them profitable enough individually. Not surprising with the massive hikes in holiday prices this year.

Thomson Flight to Goa

Hi ST1GB,

this seems to have become more comman recently. I know my flight from Gatwick is a combined flight (from what was two flights originally). They are obviously really struggling to fill some flights.

It happened last season too.

Manchester flight stopped off ib Brum to pick us up.

Hi ST1GB,

I%26#39;m on that flight as well! We booked it back in May last year when it was a First Choice flight. They changed it in about Oct last year when Thomson took over FC. It was then that they also announced that the flight would be stopping at Gatwick there and back.

I have heard a couple of weeks ago that the outward stop at Gatwick took 90 minutes. Not what you want to hear, sorry!

As far as I am aware, TOM353 / TOM354 are the only flights to stop at Gatwick.

Good news though, as we%26#39;re first on, I think that we will have the best seating choice.

See you in the bar at Manchester!

Ian %26amp; Stig...

More good news, someone posted on here recently that you get orange juice and biscuits that the Gatwick lot don%26#39;t get!!!.....Worth going to Gatwick for??

lol..

errr thanks for that Susie. I%26#39;ll look forward even more to our stop-over....not!

LOL

Out of interest todays TOM353 left Manchester just over an hour late. This is the first time in weeks. Dunno why but this is but the good news is that for the last few months it has left just about on time.

Type in Goa in the search box

Ian, I don%26#39;t know, but could this still be a knock on effect from the airplane crash yesterday....I know that lots of flights were affected yesterday?

We are on this flight for the second time this season in 2 weeks. The stop at Gatwick is about 90mins however the pilot tells you its around 40mins! Its not as bad as it sounds!!

Thanks for all the advice just one more question when you are on the ground can you still watch the movies and will we be able to play with ds and will my daughter be able to have her phone switched on. I havent told my husband we are landing at Gatwick on the way back as he is still going on about the way ther!!!! Hopefully we will have such a good holiday he wont mind!!!

They didn%26#39;t start the inflight entertainment until they had picked up in Gatwick when we travelled in November so there were no films, games etc...

We also spent 90 mins on the tarmac despite being told it would be a 45 min turn around by the captain.
