slumdog

Just been to see Slumdog Millionaire, aaaah all those poor little kiddies, sniff!

Thought it was really good and i Iknow it only shows a fraction of what happens to many kids out there.

Must say tho it makes me wonder what Chris Tarrant gets upto behind the scenes, lol.

I%26#39;ve seen it three ties now - it%26#39;s great... Thankfully mst of our kids don%26#39;t have things done to them to beg but they do have a hard life (drunk fathers, drunk mother for that matter, physical %26amp; sexual abuse, unfortunately it%26#39;s pretty normal for many children in India....

Thanks

I read an article in the Daily Mail about the real Slumdogs,it makes your heart bleed. Our kids are so lucky in this country, well most of them.

Susie,when was that on.

Chris

Hippychick, i%26#39;m not sure sorry, my sister has that sky thingy where you record it.(I think?)..I watched it at hers yesterday!

He was a tuk tuk driver, and when he won a million, he bought a new tuk tuk, a fridge and tv, but still lives in the same 1 room with his family...

Was really interesting!

Hi Susie,

He really splashed out then,lol.

Hi

Slumdog Millionaire goes a long way in showing what DOES happen in India. Unfortunately, the only ones who have/will benifit are the adult stars. All the children are now back living in the slums and nothing has really been done to improve thier lives. One of the child actors family has even been made homeless and their house, along with others knocked down.

Like many things in Inida, once the novelty has worn off, who cares..... Take for instance the accident a few months back when 9 school children aged from 6 to 9 were killed outside thier schools. What%26#39;s been done? Nothing.... It%26#39;s over and forgotten about.

Whilst many choose to %26#39;forget%26#39; I (like many others) am trying to improve the lives of some of the less fortunate. If I was to post our web page link (http://happychildrenshome.blogspot.com) then this post would probably get removed. Therefore I will not.

Regards

Paul
