Domestic to Internation airport - New Delhi

I need some help here..

I am traveling home in April, and via Delhi.

The onward journey is fine. While returning back to Paris, my flight from home to Delhi reaches Delhi at 21:50. It is Kingfisher.

Further, the international flight Air France, from Delhi takes off at 00:40.

So, I have around 3 hours to get on the next plane.

Do you think it is sufficient time - to come out from domestic airport, and reach the international airport in good time ?

I hope you can give me some idea about it.

Also, what about the reliability of Kingfisher airlines?

I would appreciate any information in this regard.

Thanks.

Rajesh.

There are regular shuttle buses from Domestic to International terminal.

Three hours is more than sufficient for this commute.

Kingfisher is an efficient airlines and has good service record.

Prior to disembarkation from the Kingfisher flight, they invariably announce the shuttle bus service details. You may contact their courteous flight attendants and they will set it up for you.

In all this would be fairly hassle free and comfortable..

HI Rajesh,

time is too short, suppose your flight reaches bang on time and the time till you get your luggage and reach international airport will consume another Hour.

Nowadys there is rush at International Airport as well due to tight security check when you enter the airport.

And all the major international traffic from New Delhi takes off during night so there is always r.u.s.h.

It is advisable to report atleast 3 hours before your flight. May be you can come in evening so it wont be a rushing experience.

Hope this helps.

Free shuttles operated by the airport authority - DIAL. Look for the shuttle coach counters

You are cutting it too fine. Remember you need to check in at least 3 hours prior to your inetrnational flight time. So you should chekc in around 10 pm. Assuming a 30 min shuttle time, you need to have collected your bags and taken the shuttle by 930 pm. Which means your domestic flight should land in Delhi around 830 pm to give you sufficient time to collect your bags and take the shuttle

Dear Rajesh -

You are expected to report 3 hours in advance of your international flight. Assuming 1 hour for collecting bags at domestic airport and taking the shuttle for transfer, I feel it would be safer if you had 4 hours instead of the 3 that you have. You can still make it with 3 hours...but it doesn%26#39;t allow for any margin of error.

Kingfisher is usually reliable but airport delays are caused by Air Traffic Control and not the airlines.

Usually I advice people not to plan their return trip in such a way that there is a connecting international flight immediately...because that allows for no backup plan. If something goes wrong in the domestic flight you miss the international one.

Would recommend the same as the earlier posters. Besides security at the airport is going to be beefed up at the Delhi Airport post March owing to the countrywide polls, so its safer to have a 4-5 time gap between two flights.

I highly appreciate all your responses.

It was my first time on this portal, and I think the people here are really efficient.

Unambiguously, you all have said that it is too tight to take the international flight in 3 hours. So I will change the plan and take a domestic flight which gives me more room in terms of time.

Thank you very much again.

Rajesh.
