Due to the annual Pongala Ritual and the extreme number of women (expected 2.5 million) along with other spectators, and traffic restrictions, it would be best to avoid any travel to Trivandrum today. Unless you have arranged to go and see the Pongala event then do not think of travelling into the city. Read more here:-

I normally go to the city to see the event but this year I will not be going as the children are off school and want to visit Lighthouse Beach and have a swim. So rain or shine, we are going swimming.
