we went to candolim last year on the monarch flight with the stop off in bahrain,it wasn%26#39;t as bad as most people make out.anyway this time we are taking the direct flight with thomas cook on the 23rd march.i would just like some feed back from those who have flown direct, and with the stop in bahrain .just over a week to go!
direct flight for or against ?
Hi HullWarrior, having flown direct a number of times then this year flew with Monarch via Bahrain in my opinion there isn%26#39;t much difference apert from an hour or so. There%26#39;s pro%26#39;s and con%26#39;s in both, direct youget there that little bit earlier, via Bahrain you get to stretch your legs.
direct flight for or against ?
been to goa 4 times twice with monarch via bahrain and twice direct with thomas cook prefer the direct flight as much more room on thomas cook plane however i would hate a direct flight with monarch.so alot depends on the carrier really, and also bahrain as a good choice of duty free.
Hi Hullwarrior,
We are flying on the 23rd with TC....are you flying from Manchester? Where are you staying?
Susie.x
Hi HullWarrior, there are fors and againsts for both. Personally I prefer to go direct to get there quicker but it had it%26#39;s advantages last year stopping off at Bahrain for a quick fag (or three) break. Going direct this time.
but is it not better the compare scheduled flights into Mumbai and on to Goa...we are flying with kingfisher at easter and Jet also get good reviews?
surely scheduled is better then charter?
Hi Susie,
we are flying from manchester with thomas cook airlines and are staying at the magnum hotel candolim.
Judge-mental
Scheduled is obviously better than charter, but it%26#39;s also more appropriate for some people than others. For us, coming from Edinburgh and travelling to London then London/Mumbai/Goa, it%26#39;s a bridge (or a leg!) too far.
Monarch suits us, much prefer it to adding an extra 6 hrs or so on to our journey by adding on another leg.
I have travelled on both flights and Thomas Cook flight is probably better because you have more space on the aircraft and you get there just a bit quicker..
I also didn%26#39;t mind going via Bahrain as you could get your Duty Free at great prices but in case you don%26#39;t know you can buy Duty Free when you arrive in Goa. They do only take English money and won%26#39;t take rupees.
Monarch flights are not so spacious but have had no other problems with them.
