I too am interested in home stay in Kerala, but apart from a tout have had no reply even though I also sent emails to some places.

I am a lone female and will be travelling in November this year and feel that I would prefer the home stay rather than a large impersonal hotel.

Will be watching to see if you get any %26#39;real%26#39; replies.

Good luck and best wishes from Sydney.

Hi msprim,

warm greetings from Kerala !

there are quite many posts and replies that deals with specific homestays at each destinatons

to get some info on various destinations in Kerala please visit www.keralatourism.org , the offical website of Kerala state tourism department

you also get a link to the homestay segment from the homepage ( left side menu bar ) . a seperate site for list of homestays (you get them listed under various categories( diamond , gold and silver classifications ) and one for homestay reservation

there is no guarantee that once they are listed here on the govt websites , they offer certain standards fo service .many of the home stays donot have a website .

another website is www.nivalink.com ,a travel agent website ,which also have a list of home stays at popular destinations

Association of accommodation providers at wayanad- Wayand Tourism organisation( WTO) has a website , www.wayanad.org

so do an inital lisitng personally and post here to hear from people who (might) have stayed there.

I contacted Jos Gramam Homestay after seeing reviews on Trip Advisor. He arranged a 14 day tour at various homestays, including his own, plus an overnight stay on a boat. Our driver Asunda met us at Trivandrum and dropped us at Aleppy so we could experience the India trains.

Every place we went was fantastic; we could not believe that Jos could maintain providing places of such high standards. He rang before we reached each new place to check my diet for me and we had one of our best holidays. Brilliant.

Cost including all trips, most meals including lunch, entry to Periyar camp, 24 hours on rice boat etc 拢1,000 per person for 14 days. Might seem expensive but worth every penny. Contacct www.keralagraman.com.

Also we flew to Trivandrum with Thomas Cook on a charter and paid extra for leg room.

the website referred above should be read as www.keralagramam.com
