Victor's restaurant,Candolim

Hi all

Has anybody eaten here recently %26amp; if so how was it?

Considering the great reviews in the ';Candolim Restaurants'; section of this site, I%26#39;m surprised that I haven%26#39;t seen it mentioned in any forum posts.

Any information much appreciated.

Regards

BWSW

Hi BWSW, just got back from a two week break in Candolim. Ate at Victors only the once, wish we hadn%26#39;t left it so late, would have loved to try it again. Most of the comments on the reviews section are correct, lovley food, aimiable host, prebooking/ordering essential.

We had a really great meal, excellent service from the very polite, attentive young lads.

We had dressed crab, prawn pate starters. Missus had Victors special steak(which I helped her out with). I had barramundi both with fresh veg, bombay spuds, chips and salad. All spot on.

Well worth the effort(very little )to find the day before and book in.

Enjoy the experience.

If you do go, can you print the reviews off for him, he hasn%26#39;t seen them! He doesn%26#39;t realise what a celebrity he is becoming.

hi

could you give directions please

Just did a search its down past the Whispering PALMS hOTEL.

Pass this hotel head towards the beach its the last building on the left.

Read you have to book day before and arrange with him your meal no Menu ? cannot walk in and expect a table.

past whispering palms hotel and is the last restuarant on the left before the beach.he only has four tables of four.

he is a very talented chef but a bad business man as he seems to not advertise very well.

one other thing dont go with more than 8 people on your table.this place is well recommended.

Hi Pollygon

Many thanks for the info,I was a little worried that they had posted the reviews themselves.

I%26#39;ll be more than pleased to take them a copy of the reviews %26amp; I%26#39;ll make sure it%26#39;s one of the first places we visit.

Thanks again.

Just got back. Certainley recomend it. One I would highly recomend is HIMALAYA on the main Fort Aguada Road just past the Kingfisher Villa and before the Taj. King prawns (8) with garlic mushroom diced roasted potatoes with the best avocado salad we have ever had. It looked a picture and tasted fantastic. All for 200 rupee (less than 拢3)

Well we actually ate there after the reviews on here.

Took a stroll down to have a look on a Monday evening,, nothing really to look at, small shack 4 dining tables but please dont be put off, the earliest he could seat 4 of us was the Thursday or Friday cant remember now, he had a full house night before for a 50th birthday.

Believe me it was worth waiting for.

You have to book, your food is then fresh and prepared when you arrive.

That is how he cares to run his restaurant, fresh food that day, served to you.

Its only a small menu but Tremendous.

I think he will expand, but at this time he wishes to keep it small with just the help of his wife and two young sons.

He is a gentleman.
