Best way to get from Egmore rail stn to domestic airport??

Hello, I hope someone can advise me. My daughter will be staying at Hotel Pandian, just near Egmore Railway Station. She is travelling alone. What is the best way for her to get to the Domestic airport (she will be flying by Kingfisher to Goa)?

I would really apprecate some advice to pass on to her, as she is travelling at the moment, and not finding it easy to get to internet to do her own research. Thanks in anticipation, Vicolivia

Its about 18 KMS from Egmore to the airport.

There are local trains available from Egmore to Tirusulam station (just across the airport). Very economical but depending on the time of the day - it can be very crowded to almost deserted.

My suggestion is to use a Call taxi service. Ask her to get the hotel to arrange a cab, which i guess would be the most effecient option. The cost should not be more than 250 INR depening on the time of the day and ask for the rates to be negotiated during booking.

Dont use the Local Train as a Road OverBridge is being constructed and during our last visit it was quite difficult to cross over the road further they close the entrance which was opposite to the Trishulam Railway Station. Let her take a Auto/Tuk Tuk they would charge Rs. 150 and max at Rs. 200 and the Hotel guys should be able to assist.
