Hi, can anyone please advise how much roughly we should expect to spend on meals while we are in Goa for a week. We are a couple and usually have cocktails, beer etc with meals. We are staying at the Riviera de Goa hotel in Arpora. We try to refrain from eating our evening meals at hotels and try and sample as much of the local food from non-hotel restaurants as possible. We%26#39;re particulary looking forward to the seafood. Thanks in advance!
Cost of meals
Hi, it all depends on what you eat, roughly, you can pay from Rs150 to Rs250 pp for an average meal or if you go a bit more upmarket it%26#39;ll be that little bit dearer but either way its still cheap.
Cost of meals
Hi there,
For one person a seafood meal in a beach shack will be around £ 3 in a resturant call it £ 4 that%26#39;s for good quality food, if you want curry/chlli fry type meals a bit less will do.
oddly enough the fish %26amp; chip pie %26amp; chip western stuff is the dearest food on offer.
drinks are around £ 1 for a big beer, and £ 2 a cocktail.
of course all will depend on where you are, but this guide should set you right.
enjoy

Thanks for such quick replies. I dont think we%26#39;ll be going for the fish and chips type western food so we%26#39;ll be ok. We%26#39;ll probably be eating around the Baga area as that is the closest busy area to Arpora. We usually go for a mixture of up-market type places and beach restaurants/shacks so all the info you%26#39;ve given is very helpful. Thanks again!
Not Arpora but here%26#39;s a link to a fairly typical menu and will give you an idea of prices

Yum - looks lovely, can%26#39;t wait!!! Thank you!
there are some very good restaurants in Arpora - in fact All Spice is probably one of the best in the area. The place next door is pretty good as well (can%26#39;t remember the name!) and so i the Sunlight and further down the road by the football pitch the newish one called Aubergine, so you don%26#39;t have to go into Baga every night to eat.
We were really disappointed in All Spice when we were there in January - food was cold and despite having 3 different curries, they all tasted the same. Service was very slow, too. We were very surprised, as we have had some great meals at All Spice. Perhaps they had an off-day....
However, their Prawn 56 starter is to die for!!
we came back 2 days ago from Palolem :)
prices are approximately:
veg meals 30 - 90

Hi
We was driving back from Baga last night and decided to stop at ';Nicks Place'; Apora near MD for a drink and check it out
The place was very clean and nicely laid out with clean table clothes and as we were early (18.30) cocktails were only 75 Rs and 3 small beers 90 Rs, they also had an early bird menu 175 Rs for two courses so we stayed and eat.
We had drinks, a very nice meal, coffee and Honey Bee for 750 Rs including a tip
We will be back
Thanks for all the info/suggestions so far. Keep them coming please as we dont go until 28th March!
