Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice please. I booked some flights and accomodation yesterday through a company on teletext going to Goa on 28th March. The flights are with Thompson/First Choice. The company charged me extra for in-flight meal (£18) and reserved seating (£23). We decided last night that we wanted to upgrade and spoke to Thomson who said that we could book the upgrade through them for £139pp rtn. They will not refund us the money for the meal or reserved seats even though these things are already included with Premium Economy seats. They also said we shouldnt have been charged extra for a meal as this comes as standard on First Choice flights to Goa. The company we booked through are saying they will charge £164 for an upgrade, £35 admin charge for the change to booking and will not refund any money for the seats and meal. I am so annoyed! Can anyone help/suggest what to do please. Thanks in advance.
Thompson flights booked through teletext
Hi S %26amp; K
We have upgraded with Thomson (First Coice) coast £129 each....
Hope you got a good price for the flight as it seems you%26#39;ve been %26#39;done%26#39; for the rest.
Thompson flights booked through teletext
I think we%26#39;re just going to stick with economy seats as the reviews from first choice travellers have been good for the long haul flights. That way neither Thomson or the other company get any more money from us!!! The whole package cost us about £480 for flights and accomodation at Riviera de Goa, so not bad considering Thomson are charging over £600 for the same.
As long as you%26#39;re happy with what you%26#39;ve paid....
You%26#39;ll have a great time and the money you%26#39;re reluctant to give them (don%26#39;t blame you!) will be your drinks money for the holiday!
Enjoy
Yes looking forward to the drinks and the lovely food I have heard so much about. Cant wait!
Thomsson seem like there after as much money as they can get... i have never wished for a company to go bust but i wouldnt mind seing thomson in the company grave yard... well after the 12th april anyway as thats when i come home, Also fly out on 28th from manchester
As the UK%26#39;s largest tour operator it would be bad news for a lot of travellers, and the travel trade, if Thomsons did go bust.
I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be fine in economy with Thomson/First Choice Sandkholidays - I think we had 33'; leg room and the money you save will go quite a long way in Goa. Hope you have a brilliant holiday.
I know what your saying about many people missing out on holidays they have paid for but i am just very peed off with thomson myself its all about the money,,, i take back my words about them going bust ha ha just hope they dont get as much profit this year
Yes I am sure the money will go a long way! I am still going to push for a refund on the £18pp they charged for the in-flight meal though as Thomson are still saying it comes as standard.
Rob i know you have a separate issue with Thompson, but in this case is seems Sandy ? (sorry forgot the op name) has a issue with the company that they bought the tickets off, not Thompson direct.
Good luck Rob with your complaint i hope you get a positive outcome.
I flew with both Thompson %26amp; First Choice economy to Goa last year, and it was absolutely fine 33'; leg room, tv in the seats could play games watch films etc food was ok too.
Hi - an update. ';Your Holidays'; the teletext company I booked through have just said they will refund the £18pp for in-flight meals. I spoke to about 3 different people at Thomson and they all said I shouldnt have been charged. When I rang back and spoke to ';your holidays'; and told them this, the woman said she would ring Thomson and check again. She then went away and called me back after 5 mins. She said she had a Thomson agent on the phone and they were still saying that they were right to charge us. When I asked for the Thomson agent%26#39;s name, she quickly changed her mind and said they would refund us the money!!! Very convenient. She also said they would now refund us the money for the reserved seating as well as the meals if we wanted to upgrade and would only only charge £139 (the same as what Thomson had quoted). I told her it was too late!!!
