Hi there -
Has anyone gone to Purple Valley? I%26#39;m wondering what the experience is like. Too touristy? Too hard core yoga?
Thanks!
Purple Valley Yoga
Hi
I have been there last march and it was awesome. friendly people, great yoga (the intensity depends on the instructor), delicious food....
it was a really good experience...you will have plenty of time to lounge about the pool or visit goa%26#39;s beautiful cities and beaches....
purple valley is clean and comfortable...and they have an ayurvedic center which you should not miss visiting....
the one thing i wasnt expecting was the small animals that find their way into your room through the windows....they are harmless like frogs and giecos, you will definatley encounter them if you stay at the bungalows.
but like i said, it was a great experience and would definatley recommend it.
the yoga will make you feel fantastic!
Purple Valley YogaHi, I am going there is a few weeks. Can I ask you what you did in the evenings and did you have to take much money with you? Did you take rupees or do they like US dollars??
Really looking forward to my trip!
Thanks
i took 10,000 rupees with me for a one week stay, that used to be about USD300 although with the current exchange rate it is about USD 200 and it was more than enough...since all your meals are paid for, you need small change to give for tips. other than that you will probably spend on the ayurvedic treatments, and the odd meal outside the purple valley. it also depends on how much you are willing to spend in goa%26#39;s markets....i remember the bus ride from purple valley to nearly anywhere is about 5 rupees. although i always went with groups of people staying at the purple valley with the purple valley drivers and it will cost about 450 rupees total, i think its better to not take the bus...
and i recommend taking 10,000 rupees just to be on the safe side...getting to a bank machine can be a hassle...you can always exchange the money back when you return.
anyway i hope this was useful, its definatley better to carry rupees although i am sure $$ are accepted.
