Does anybody know if batteries are cheap enough and widely available.
I%26#39;m thinking about torches...they are so heavy with their batteries!

Suzie, get your batteries in Goa, Duracell very cheap, i usually end up bringing some home.
You can also buy torches in Goa cheaply.
Also light up novelty glasses, mmm could be a good theme for a birthday party. lol
Batteries...
lol....thanks kal!
Sorry to put a downer on the novelty glasses. Sat in a bar one night and the usual boys selling all the light up stuff came along. My friend was going to buy some for her grandaughter when a man sat at the next table asked her not to buy any for her drandaughters eye sites sake. He told us he was an optician and these glasses were very bad for children although they would think they were fantastic. He went on to explain why, something to do with the intensity of the light near the eyes.
Anyway she did not buy any, bought a light up top instead!!
If you use the small flat batteries for watches etc they are cheaper to buy on a card at £1 shop and bring them.
Why not buy a wind-up torch? Then you won%26#39;t have to pollute the environment with batteries or worry about carrying them. Before Woolies bit the dust they had some small, cheap wind-up torches. Tesco have also had the ones that you shake to charge them and they%26#39;re good as well.
