The fundamental concepts this organisation is promoting are laudable. I would urge you to try this experience and share with the rest of us.

Feedback on HACRA tours

Hi,

We went on a daytrip with Hacra in September and cannot recommend it enough. We thought the visits with families in the Bishnoi area were conducted in a sensitive and non-interfering way and loved the day - one of our best experiences in India. For more see my trip review at tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g297665-i4566-k234…

Guide Desert it is better you ask these people you have named to sign up on TA and give their feedback themselves. Also bad idea to give email addresses of other people without their permission. They may get offended.

thanks npjai for your great advise.

thanks lot.

If you are looking for an experience that warms your heart in the midst of a pristine untouched desert paradise and innocent, warm rural folks – then the desert trip organised by Gemar Singh will give you that and more.

Extremely relaxing as you take in the desert views from camel back, you have time to reflect, contemplate and get a perspective on life. More so as Gemar provides you with a unique experience of constantly being in the midst of and living with rural folks who effectively live on the fringe of survival, in harmony with nature, constantly struggling and striving while maintaining the basic human traits of warmth, friendliness, happiness and where, in classic Rajput tradition – Guest is God.

Gemar – a well spoken, warm, friendly and multilingual guide is kind enough to share his home and hearth, as part of the trip. This was certainly the highlight of our trip. In the midst of a scrubby desert is this oasis consisting of a few thatched, stoned and solar powered dwellings. This is where Gemar and his lovely family greets you and welcomes you into their hearth and kitchen. Not to mention the most glorious sunset. Between Gemar and his wife, they cook you a yummy, traditional, healthy and filling meal. They cook this fare up in front of you – using traditional centuries old appliances, tools and methods – a real eye opening experience in our modern energy starved and environmentally disharmonised world.

A good nights sleep in the silence of the desert is followed by a sublime awakening in the midst of peacocks strolling around and chinkaras (a kind of gazelle or deer) fleeting by. Again, a hearty breakfast of your choice.

The desert trip on camel back, mingling with the rural folk, especially the young happy children adds another dimension to the whole trip. The meals cooked by Gemar and his camel men, out in the open, as you slowly make your way through the desert is another delight, yet again.

Overall, highly recommended.

Cant recommned the desert trip by Gemar Singh and his cameleers enough. I have been in few of these type of trips where we try and dig out the less touristy ones (including one in Egypt) and this expereince was one of the best. The best thing about it is the simple pleasures you get by gemar and his folks thrown in with the multitidue of kids you meet and see as you travel through the desert. These kids are so happy with simplest of things in life.

The service is 7* plus. All your questions get honest answers from Gemar and his is an interesting story from a little boy who grew up near Jaiselmer and seeing these %26#39;gore logh%26#39; literally meaning %26#39;white poeple%26#39; wanting to go into the desert, decided that%26#39;s what he will do. Has followed his dream and achieved it by learning many languages and is an amazing guide.

Hi!

I really agree with everything you wrote about the Camel Tour with Ghemar. One of the most important experiences for me in India!

it was like a dream!

I adored sleeping under the stars in Ghemar´s hous courtyard.

I can just recommend it!

nice greetings

My husband and I thought the tour with Gemar Singh and HACRA was the highlight of our India trip. He was an amazing guide, kind, excellent English, answered all our questions with patience and was an excellent host. For me to explain what a great experience it was would take too long. For anyone interested in a camel tour must go with HACRA. You will not be disappointed. We would go with him again in a heartbeat.
