HI TripAdvisors,
I will arrive at Mumbai Port (does anyone know it%26#39;s name?) in May 2009. I will need to transfer to the domestic airport for a Spice Jet flight to Jaipur, and then arrange ground transportation (for 2) to Agra/Taj Mahal area. I read that Mumbai has 2 airports. Can some one verify their names and which one Spice Jet leaves from for a flight to Jaipur? Is a car rental (a drive myself) advisable for trip from Jaipur to Agra/Taj Mahal area? Any other options you can suggest? If you can throw in some advice about prices and ';getting a task'; accomplished ie: reliable contact info, that would be appreciated also. Thank each of you for taking your time to help me.
Mumbai airport names? Spice Jet? Agra/Taj Mahal? Are you arriving on Sun Princess or Legend of the Seas? Cruise ships arrive at Ballard Pier, and exit is through something called Green Gate. From where the ships berth, to Green Gate is 500 meters or maybe a little more. You can walk. Sometimes people are asked to exit through Yellow Gate and that%26#39;s not so nearby.
From Ballard Pier it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to get to the domestic airport. There is only one domestic airport, it is at Santacruz. You need to say only ';domestic airport'; and you will be taken correctly. The official name of the domestic airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (it is called International because it shares a common large landing and take off space with the international airport at Andheri, however the entry point from the road to these two airports is different).
There are multiple terminals at the domestic airport.

SpiceJet is 1B.
From Delhi airport it takes 4-5 hours to drive to Agra. You can arrange your trip beforehand with someone who will pick you up at the Mumbai docks (they can pick you up inside, where the ship berths, if they get a dock pass), transfer you to Mumbai airport, pick you up at Delhi, take you to Agra and bring you back. They%26#39;ll also arrange hotels. If you want to do a full Golden Triangle tour, then you need about 5-6 days.
It will work something like this:
Day 1: Berth in Mumbai, transfer to Delhi, late evening sightseeing in Delhi, overnight Delhi
Day 2: Half day Delhi sightseeing, drive to Agra
Day 3: Taj by dawn, Agra Fort, drive to Jaipur
Day 4: Jaipur
Day 5: Jaipur sightseeing, fly to next point
Please ask if you have more questions.

Mumbai airport names? Spice Jet? Agra/Taj Mahal?Thank you Deepa. We come in on Legend of the Seas ---at Ballard Pier -I guess....%26amp; hope for the Green Gate that is close. We already booked a flight to Jaipur and are requesting contacts to take us from JAI to Agra/Taj. Do you know if a person can rent a car at the Jai airport and drive ourselves? We will be there one night and drive back to JAI for a Noon flight to BOM and then to Ballard port. Thanx
For your Jaipur - Agra - Jaipur car transport, I would like to advice you very similar trip avisor post tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g297683-i1206-k233… but I think it is driven by driver not selfdrive, you have to ask to many agencies if they can provide the selfdrive car services, as per my knowledge very hard to get selfdrive car bcos in India almost all car rental agencies provide the car with driver, Have a nice trip to Taj
SR, please don%26#39;t push that post which recommends your company. It%26#39;s not the first time you are doing it and it%26#39;s getting very tiring.
idnas - if you haven%26#39;t booked already, it may make sense to drive to Delhi, rather than back to Jaipur. Delhi is a very interesting city; also there are more connections to Mumbai.
Self-drive is not advised in India - it can be nerve wracking. Chauffer driven cars are easy to hire and drivers are inexpensive unlike the US.
I%26#39;m going to stay away from the tour operator recommendation question.

Sorry Deepa, I forgot that who can post on India TA forum but now I got that we don’t have any right to post here so sorry again and thanks a lot for your advice and in future I will be avoid answering same post that you have answered already
Dear SR -
Anyone can post on TA, including travel operators. It is a public forum, and there is no need to stay away from any post.
What needs to be avoided is self-promotion.
- Deepa
I have also told SR1980 about this Deepa, but he always manages to avoid the question and turn it around and make it look like HE is the one being victimized.
There are THOUSANDS of posts about cars and drivers on this forum. What is so special about that particular thread ? Why must you refer to it in every 3rd post, SR ? Any reasonable answers ?
Brave and Deepa, please let me know a good similar post that I can suggest in future, thanks you Deepa and Brave, please just let me know and Deepa I can understand why you are so jealous to my above suggestion? I can guess, any way thanks for all
As I said above SR, there are thousands of posts regarding this topic. You can give your reply without pointing to the one specific thread which has two companies named all the time. For all we know, one or both companies can be yours.
Why don%26#39;t you make a reply post which has NO companies mentioned and refer to it as many times as you want ? I%26#39;m sure none of us will have a problem with it.
Deepa has got no reason to be jealous of you. Please don%26#39;t start playing the innocent victim again. I have seen your other posts. You can and do post good information if you want without the need to self promote. If you become an asset to the forum, people will ask you for help and services on their own. We are not your enemies. But we do try to keep self promotion out of the TA forums.
brave.
