I read somewhere a padlock is needed, is this true or do they have locks on them?

Petermacc, I seem to remember that you do need to bring a small padlock with you, or buy one there as they are really cheap.

I had heard to same as you and planned to take a padlock with me, I would feel safer not leaving / carrying my stuff.
