Comment on Vardhman Vacations

We are thinking of working with an Indian travel agency, named Vardhman Vacations out of Delhi to plan our 3 week tour. In email communications, they seem quite good. Does anyone have any experience with them?

We are also thinking of working with Vardhman Vacations for a two week tour. As you did not receive any answers to your post, I was wondering if you have any other feedback with regard to this agency?

Thank you in advance!

Comment on Vardhman Vacations

I have not heard from anyone using Vardhman Vacations. Our experience to date has been very good for the most part, though the ';proof is in the pudding'; - i.e. we leave for India this Saturday.

My family and I are now back in the U.S. after a wonderful three week holiday in India organized by Vardhman Vacations.

We were very pleased and happy with the firm%26#39;s services. I admit we were somewhat nervous, not knowing the firm except for their website and email communications. However, it all worked out extremely well. India is a large and culturally diverse country where oftentimes things can go awry, but their itinerary and their services were extraordinary.

Their planned itinerary gave us just the right amount of time to see the wonder and beauty of Rajasthan, Agra, Kerala and Pune but kept us moving at a satisfactory pace. All the drivers were excellent, who navigated so well through some difficult traffic jams and poor road conditions. All the within-India flights they arranged for us actually departed and arrived on time (better than our return flights home).

The quality of the hotel accommodations were for the most part excellent, though I should add that I largely recommended they book them by reading Lonely Planet recommendations for midrange properties. I must not forget to thank them for the houseboat they booked for us, which was simply first class and a highlight of our trip.

It was great to have tour guides in the cities we visited; though to be perfectly honest, the guides were a mixed bag. A suggestion here is that V.V. provide their customers with tour guide vouchers, as they did hotel vouchers, as the guides often asked if we had them.

All in all, V.V. created and fulfilled a wonderful vacation experience at a reasonable fee for my family that will leave us with great memories (and photos) for years to come.

We have just returned from a 2 1/2 week tour to India (Rajasthan and Kanha National Park) organised by Vardhman Vacations. We found them on the web, communicated extensively by e-mail, booked and paid 90% for our trip departing on 28 November 2008. The day before we were sceduled to leave, as a result of the Mumbai terror attacks and on the advice of the Indian Consulate here in Johannesburg, we postponed our trip. I contacted them in January wishing to reinstate our arrangements for departure 13 February 2009.

They were FANTASTIC! Sarita, a delightful lady in the office, speedily rebooked hotels, an internal flight from Delhi to Udaipur, 2 overnight train journeys (Agra to Japalpur and Jabalpur to Delhi), a car and driver, and guides for city sightseeing. The only cancellation charges we had to pay were for non-refundable internal flights and train fares, which amounted to a very small percentage of the overall cost of the trip for our family. Our trip went like clockwork, with someone to meet us at every arrival point and inform us of arrangements. All our hotel, flight and train reservations were in order. Some hotels were our requests, some were their suggestions - we were delighted with every one. Thanks to Vardhman, we went to Kanha National Park which was a wonderful wildlife experience (myriad birds, sloth bear, wild boar, jackal, gaur, chinkara, spotted deer, sambar, barasingha deer and TIGER!). Our cars were comfortable and air-conditioned. Our drivers were excellent: punctual, courteous and drove safely and efficiently.

Should we return to India, and we fervently hope to do so, we will book with Vardhman Vacations again. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
